The Applause Institute (IZA) is a collective that uses an experimental approach in order to re-examine the ways of artistic (re)presentation, comprehension of art, communication with the audience and their potential participation. It was established in March, 2018, in response to the need of young artists, curators and cultural workers to gather around certain association. The IZA members are: Stevan Beljić, Luka Cvetković, Stefan Knežević, Katarina Kostandinović, Milan Nasković, Kristina Nikolić, Jakov Ponjavić, Dušan Savić, Vanja Seferović and Tamara Spalajković. The IZA’s current research deals with the field of art in public space, and is aimed at examining the role that art has in the public sphere, and exploring the temporality of the artwork, the character of ephemeral artistic event/action and the public space as a specific factor.
