The 26 th Salon of Architecture in the Museum of Applied Art in Belgrade , Serbia , has been held continuously, almost every year, thirty years now. (The Salon was established in 1974.) During this period, because of the great interest of architects, the Salon has grown into one of the greatest and most spectacular yearly manifestation in this Museum; the Salon has become very respectable in the architectural profession, and in the public opinion generally.

Motto of this year’s Salon was “Quality – Production – Experiment” which expresses, in the briefest possible way, the character of this manifestation. Those were the criteria, too, of the selection panel who considered the work of the candidates who applied for the Salon. (Members of the jury were: Vera Risti ć -Mihaljević, Nenad Rukavina and Ljiljana Miletić-Abramović). Characteristically, there is a great variety of works and topics, from architecture, interiors, building heritage, competitions, and student works. At this, 26 th Salon, 130 works were displayed in the professional categories, and 25 in the students’ category; many other authors were presented as well.

The newly-formed Council of the Salon of Architecture has initiated the future programming policy, aimed at internationalization of the Salon. This year, we have guests-participants from several neighboring countries ( Slovenia , Croatia , Macedonia , Republika Srpska), and also from Poland and England .
