The work represents a spatial installation that serves as a performing space in the authorial project JuliJa by Mirjana Karanović, based on the motives from the play Miss Julie. The space is a house/cage, a safe place and a prison, a place of physical and psychological confrontation with oneself as well as with social and cultural contexts.

07 Biography (not exceeding 100 words):

Mia David was born in Belgrade in 1974. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, and obtained her Master’s and PhD Degrees at the Department of Stage Design, University of Arts in Belgrade. She authored the projects from the field of architecture, design, scenography and art, as well as texts, radio and video shows for different media. She was a curator of the Serbian national selection at the Prague Quadrennial 2015 when she, being a member of curatorial team, received the Gold Medal for Provoking a Dialogue. She is a founder and editor-in-chief of the magazine Kvart, and co-founder of the organisation Blokovi [Blocks]. She was a lecturer at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and an Acting Director of the Belgrade Cultural Centre. She is a manager of the Navigator Gallery and an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad.
