04 Description (not exceeding 50 words):

TransformatioN is an experimental puppet performance for youth and adult audience. Its genre is difficult to define since it functions on the borderline between theatre of objects, theatre of movement, figural theatre, Grand Guignol and audio-visual experimental spectacle. A director-designer duo establishes play as a method of their joint research work with a twenty-member performing ensemble in order to map new territories of the theatre language specific in its aesthetic, semantic and narrative potential.

The performance is the author’s response to the famous novel Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. The light functions as a dramatic element and element of the performance atmosphere. On the costume and stage design level, light points to their materiality. It functions as an indispensable part of the atmosphere, irrespective of whether it reflects off surfaces, or plays with them alchemically by means of three overhead projectors, lasers or lamps.
