Broken Light
04 Description (not exceeding 50 words):
A hundred and fifty metres of rope is designed so as to “radiate light” from the bars of each of the six detached prison cells. These 25 lines composing a system meet at one point on the wall – the only “view” that each of the cells have, symbolising otherwise impossible exchange of the prisoners and the entry of sunlight into the cell space. The sharp and precise geometry of the installation is dynamised by changing the light position and by the visitor’s movement.
