The exhibition is organized by the Museum of Applied Art, Belgrade, in collaboration with the foundation FRAME (Finnish Fund for Art Exchange), Helsinki, Finland.
Twenty-five photographs of Aino Kannisto from the opus “Staged Photographs” were produced for the past ten years. Last year, while staying in Belgrade, Kannisto made some of her latest works that would be also shown at the exhibition in the Museum of Applied Art. Actually, Kannisto composes staged photographic self-portraits in a large scale, rendered in the technique of C-print on Aluminum, in which she assumes the role of fictional female characters. The works produced in Belgrade, as well as the most part of other photographs from the above-mentioned opus conjure up the frame of mind of these female characters that, in fact, all together represent the self-portrait of Aino Kannisto.
