11th TRINNALE OF CONTEMPORARY ARTISTIC CERAMICS BELGRADE - SUBOTICA

In cooperation with Likovni susret from Subotica, The Museum organized 11th Triennial of contemporary artistic ceramics, which is the most significant manifestation in this field. The Triennial took place in Belgrade from 15 April to 30 May 2003, and in Subotica in September-October 2003. The Triennial of ceramics was established in 1968, with the aim to exhibit works of art and individual authors’ poetics, which contributed to the development of ceramics in our region.

The new Triennial concept consisted of five segments – selector’s exhibitions:

Between memories and future by Biljana Vukotic, the author, New ideas and new generations by Olga Sram, the author, Practical ceramics, Gordana Biba Markovic (The Museum of Applied Art, 16 April – 31 May 2003), Sculptures in terracotta by Gordana Stanisic, the author (Gallery of Belgrade Cultural Centre, 28 April – 11 May 2003), Ceramic colonies by Svetlana Mladenov (Gallery of the Association of Serbian Visual Artists, 7 May – 21 May 2003).

The Triennial in Belgrade was accompanied by an additional programme, featuring lectures of renowned experts in the field:
Contemporary ceramics based on experiences regarding work of international panels Janet Mansfield, Panel President, Australia
Contemporary ceramics in Pesaro region, Professor Gian Carlo Bojani, Director of Musei Civici – Pesaro.
