Kengo Kuma
a Japanese architect
born in Kanagava, Japan, in 1954
attends the Faculty of Architecture, Tokyo University up to 1968, after which he moves on to New York’s Columbia University
in 1987 he founds a special design studio
in 1990 he founds “Kengo Kuma & Associates”
up to 1999 he teaches at the Keio University (Faculty of Environmental Information)
Winner of numerous awards and merits, including:
2002 Spirit of Nature Wood Architecture Award, Finland
2001 International Stone Architectural Award 2001 for Stone Museum, Italy
2000 Grand Prize, Prize of AIJ, Tohoku Chapter, for Desig
