MajdanArt
the greatest and most important manifestation of visual arts in Eastern Serbia
The manifestation MajdanArt was established in Majdanpek in 2001 by the Society of Arts, Culture and Tourism “MajdanArt” and it is held in September every year. This event is not only one of the bearers of cultural activities in the town, but it is also the initiator of the activities related to education, tourism and affirmation in the municipality of Majdanpek, Eastern Serbia, and beyond.
The partners in the organization of MajdanArt are as follows: the Museum of Applied Art from Belgrade, the Faculty of Applied Arts from Belgrade, the Faculty of Fine Arts from Belgrade, the Faculty of Arts from Zvečan, the Cultural Center Majdanpek, the Center of Emigrants and Serbs in the Region – Belgrade, as well as individual artists.
Fifteen years of work 2001 – 2016
For fifteen years MajdanArt has been organizing the “Art Workshop for Jewelry Design MajdanArt” which has always been realized within the plants of the Zlatara Majdanpek (Jeweler Majdanpek). The organizers of MajdanArt also founded the International Exhibition “ART IN MINIATURE MAJDANART” and “Art Workshop for Design and Production of Artistic Ceramics” in 2010.
The VII International Exhibition “Art in Miniature” consists of 552 art work, 306 artists from 27 countries. It was held in Majdanpek from 10th until 23rdSeptember 2016, and the same exhibition will be set in the Gallery “ŽAD”, the Museum of Applied Art, in Belgrade from 15th October until 3rd November 2016.
