WOMAN, WAR AND POSTER: 1914-1918

24 February - 19 March 2016

Promotion of the Publication
“War and the Poster: 1914-1918”

The publication “War and Poster: 1914-1918” will be presented at the Museum of Applied Art, on Wednesday, 24 February at 6:30 pm. The book was published, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Information, within the framework of the Programme for Marking the Centenary of the World War I, and it was prepared by Vladimir Čeh, founder of the Institute for the History of Advertisement and author of the exhibition, held at the Museum, under the same name.

The promotion will also include demonstration of the multimedia dimension of this publication. In addition to 240 posters reproduced in the book itself, readers will be able to use their mobile phone or tablet in order to “scroll through” nearly 500 posters that will be displayed on screens during the exhibition. And all this will be possible thanks to the application made by Vitomir Jevremović. After promotion, the posters will be available on social networks. In the meantime, a 30-minute film, in which the author acts as a “guide through the exhibition”, has been prepared. Furthermore, the exhibition will be commented on by the participants of the last year’s conference “Ten to One”, whose conference texts were published in the book “War and Poster: 1914-1918”.
