32nd SALON OF ARCHITECTURE

Adjustment… Architecture Plus…

Adjustment… Architecture Plus… is the theme of this year’s Salon of Architecture to be held in the Museum of Applied Art from 25th of March to 30th of April 2010. The Salon of Architecture is a popular event at the Museum of Applied Art (MAA) which brings together, presents and puts on the map the best authorial practices of the national scene of architecture. The Salon has always emphasized the importance of the mission of architecture in the development of society. The Salon advocates plurality and quality of architectural solutions and building standards, it strives to spotlight the alternative, research projects and ideas. The Salon reflects architectural and urban professional practice but it is also the venue and the opportunity for sharing local, regional and global experience. It is open to all generations of architects from the country and abroad.

The jury of the 32nd Salon of Architecture whose members are:

  • Ružica Božović Stamenović (Singapore – Belgrade)
  • Milan Dimitrijević (winner of the 2009 Grand Prix)
  • Đorđe Stojanović
  • Bratislav Tošković (Finland)
  • Snežana Vesnić

choosing from about 90 works which passed selection, will decide on the Grand Prix – Grand Award of the Salon and the awards in various categories: architecture, urban planning. interior design and publications.

Vasa Perović, architect enjoying European reputation who lives in Slovenia will attend the Salon as its special guest and the historiographic exhibition in remembrance of the early Grand Prix awards winners of the Salon of Architecture from 1974, 1975 and 1976 will contribute to the attractiveness of the current Salon of Architecture.

The Salon’s traditional follow-up programme includes series of discussions, lectures, presentations and workshops. There will be several topical events held:

  • New museums – architecture of new museums in the world and situation in our museums;
  • Discussion and exhibition on the Architecture of theatres in the 20th century;
  • Situation – young architects in Serbia;
  • Lecture on architect Milutin Borisavljević;
  • Students’ workshop;

This year’s Salon of Architecture will develop a proactive visual identity, manifest and attractive to all who walk along Knez Mihailova Street to the Museum of Applied Art at Vuka Karadžića Street No. 18.
