The Design Market, with its tradition of over 20 years in its sales area within the Museum of Applied Art, brings together a selection of exceptional works by eminent domestic artists, its own museum publications, as well as souvenirs in the form of silver jewelry replicas and reprints of posters, whose originals are kept in museum collections. The focus in the selection of works is placed on contemporary design, delicate craftsmanship, divergence in the materials used, as well as authenticity. In this way, the Design Market is an indispensable place to visit and a landmark on the artistic map of Belgrade for high quality, original and unique gifts.
As some kind of ambassador of the Museum of Applied Art, the Design Market museum store has an important role in familiarizing the Museum visitors with the applied art stored in it. A visit to the Design Market intensifies and prolongs the unique impression of the importance of objects from museum collections, also emphasizing the importance of the role of the Museum itself, as the only official and specialized institution in Serbia that deals with the study and inheritance of applied art in our cultural and artistic space.
