Multimedia Art, Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies, University of Arts, Belgrade
In accordance with her permanent research and development, Dragana Dražović Ilić has, through her art project Sublimation of Reminiscence, gone deeper into the secrets that remain hidden from many because they allow neither themselves nor others to peep through that door. This time, under the carpet, Dragana Dražović Ilić finds and shapes a truly neglected and hidden world.
Through a variety of approaches, forms and relations between artistic signs and technologies, by acting on many of our senses and engaging us into several interactive plays, Dragana takes us on a journey through secret worlds and unexpected beauties. With her enormous talent, refined artistic sense, sophisticated and relentless creative improvisations, she made us see the contents that we usually disgust, loathe, avoid and suppress as charming and attractive. And that is where the secret of the great artist’s knowledge and skills lies! Even when she starts working with waste, excess or rejected materials, garbage or dust… she discovers and presents aesthetic dominance, harmony and a deep sense of beauty in all this.
