The present May Exhibition is titled “Hard-pressed” as a kind of a paradigm for the actual social reality, which provides witty, critical and creative challenges. The May Exhibition ranks among the most comprehensive exhibitions of the contemporary production in the field of applied arts and represents a survey of the vivid artistic and cultural scene in Serbia.

Along the main exhibition, which features works of 209 artists, the individual exhibition of sculptures of the last year’s laureate of The Grand Prix, Jasna Dulić Grujić will be shown.

This survey of the recent works done by Serbian artists selected by a jury upon an open competition, will be accompanied by an interesting program in the Museum’s gallery “Jade”, consisting of the presentations of individual art projects, educational workshops, round tables, lectures by critics, and similar. Thus, we shall have an exclusive occasion to see the new copy of Miroslavljevo Jevanđelje (Miroslav Gospels), a unique enterprise by caligrapher-copist Svetozar Pajić Dijak. We shall also meet the indefatigable and admirable photographer Dragoljub Zamurović, who will talk about his latest photographic project concerning the city of Belgrade. Architect Vladimir Lovrić will inform us about the eco architecture, art and design. An interesting sound and multimedia presentation by Anela Takač, Master of Art, from London will also be featured. Art historian Mirjana Bajić will present a lecture and will be moderating an interactive discussion about branding. Among nine accompanying programs there will be held an In memoriam Exhibition dedicated to the early-departed designer Dragoslava Beka Punišić.

This, 44th, May Exhibition represents the crown of individual and collective endeavors of the artists, the members of The Association of Applied Arts Artists and Designers of Serbia (ULUPUDS), living and working in the Republic of Serbia and abroad. The Exhibition will also feature a catalogue. The main sponsors are the Municipality of Stari Grad, Ministry of Culture, Media and Information Society of Serbia, The Official Gazette of The Republic of Serbia. The support for the Exhibition was also provided by Vadel, Empresa and Phoenician Arts, Mermer Art and Marmocer.
